Instagram is rolling out an “Enhanced Tags” option for its users to mention creators and partners on their reels. The same kind of functionality was also previously added to the Instagram feed, so people can help promote content and their creators on posts. This is done to give credit to the photo or video creators.
More interestingly, Instagram is no longer a photo sharing application, but rather a video sharing one. Most of its new features give us a sign that its main focus is video content. Instagram is undoubtedly a great way to connect people from all walks of life and provides a place for brands and businesses to promote their products. Besides that, it also encourages content creators to post high-quality content in the form of reels and stories.
It is important to note that, in recent years, social media has completely evolved. It has now become a new medium of mass communication for businesses. This shift from photos to videos on Instagram is indeed a logical evolution. Instagram Reels allows users to shoot short videos to engage viewers and to make Reels more attractive and interesting to watch, you can add music, filters and several other entertainment options. In Reels, the Enhanced Tag option will increase collaborator recognition. For example, let’s say you wore a dress for an occasion and hired a photographer to capture your looks. If you like their work and want to give them credit, you can do so by tagging their profiles on Reels so people viewing the tags know who captured that photo.
Most of the reels are designed to promote brands and this feature will definitely help content creators to highlight the designated personal profile of the contributor who is usually behind the scenes. This enhancement tag feature will definitely help you give credit to whoever you are collaborating with.
To use the new and improved tagging feature on Instagram, start creating a reel as you normally would. When you get to the posting step, tap on Tag People. Then tap on the name of the person you want to tag and click on their username. Once you are done selecting your patron’s username, tap on the View Profile Category option and the creator’s profile will be displayed on your reel.
