Rangers Transfer News: John Lundstram reveals advice that led to Ibrox move
Rangers’ new signing John Lundstram has revealed that Ibrox’s former talent John Fleck has told him to move to Glasgow, according to the Daily Record. reports.

Lundstram has become the Ibrox side first signature from the transfer window as the former Sheffield United midfielder joined Steven Gerrard’s side on a free transfer.

Lundstram has now revealed that he discussed the possibility of a move to Rangers with former Sheffield United teammate Fleck, who started his career at Ibrox before moving to Coventry City in 2012.

As a native of Liverpool, Lundstram is all too aware of the stature of Rangers manager Gerrard, and former Blackpool talent admitted that the chance to work with the 2005 Champions League winner was one of the reasons he moved to Scotland.

Lundstram is thrilled that a player of Gerrard’s stature is a fan of him, and he is sure he can learn from one of the greatest midfielders of recent generations.
“Talking to him and having someone like him want me was huge. I want to learn from him and I am getting to my peak and I hope I can play my best football here and I am sure he can help me.” he concluded.
If Lundstram can take Gerrard’s advice and dominate in the middle of the park, he will prove to be a very good signing for the Scottish champions.
Lundstram is unlikely to find the back of the net as often as Gerrard did – he scored 20 goals in his career – but that doesn’t mean he can’t take inspiration from Rangers manager and his assistant Gary McAllister, another midfielder who has had a very successful career.
