Rangers try to share pitch with Ayr United for Colts tag team games
Ayr United have rejected a Rangers offer to host the Colts team from Ibrox club to Somerset Park.
The Gers had approached the Honest Men to discuss a possible land-sharing deal ahead of their entry into the Lowland League next season.
The deal reportedly involved the Rangers ‘B’ team playing their ‘home’ matches outside Somerset.
But the Ayrshire Post can reveal that the Championship club will not pursue any deal.
Ayr chairman David Smith has confirmed United will not explore the potential option.

He told the Post: “It was nice to be asked, but given the impact it would have had on our land, especially during the winter months, we decided it wasn’t for us. . “
The Colts Rangers and Celtic teams will face off in the Lowland League after a vote on setting up the setup earlier this month.
