chambanamoms.com thank you Carle Oral Auditory School for presenting the schedule for this weekend
The Carle Auditory Oral School was founded 24 years ago to provide a listening and spoken language program to deaf and hard of hearing children and their families. It is beneficial to have consistent interactions with typically developing children who can naturally model language, and social interactions that deaf and hard of hearing students strive to develop. It quickly became clear that developing children really do enjoy and appreciate the small class sizes, the language-rich teaching style, the close relationships with a passionate staff, and the hands-on learning opportunities. Our goal is to provide a solid foundation and foster an undying love of learning for all students, ages 3 through 3, to prepare for a successful transition to schools in their neighborhood.
Featured event – Saturday engineering for everyone
Saturday Engineering for Everyone is a free open-ended lecture series for non-engineers of all backgrounds who want to learn more about engineering. This week’s presentation is “Why Do We Need Human-Like Robots” by Professor Joohyung Kim at 11 am on Saturday May 1 via Zoom. Professor Kim’s team is researching methods for robot manipulation tasks to help people in everyday life. By exploring soft / hard materials, fabrication methods, and design optimization, they hope to develop useful sensing methods for robotic tasks in the home. Get more information here.
