YouTube is constantly experimenting with new features and adjustments to its platform. A new Like animation for Android and iOS mobile apps seems to be the latest.
For a while now, the new Like animation has been spreading. The feature appears to have rolled out to a small group of users initially, as several people have reported it on the /r/YouTube subreddit for the past month.
On Android and iOS devices, however, the feature is now available to a wider audience. The traditional like button is still available on the online version of YouTube. The report does not specify whether the new Like animation is available on the desktop version or not.
As for the new Like animation, users will see a new animation of fireworks and streamers around the thumb icon of the Like button.
The company also updated the dislike button, but it doesn’t get an animation. Instead, users will now see a new Learn More popup that will redirect them to the Creator Updates page with details of recent changes on YouTube.
The entire artwork expands and bounces for a moment and changes its color from green to red, then back to normal.
How to get the new Like animation on the YouTube app
As mentioned, the feature is rolling out to users and it is a server-side update. So there is no option in the settings to enable or disable the feature at the moment.
